Relocating to Canton

Located just over 30 miles north of Atlanta and at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains, Canton is in the northern part of Georgia and is the county seat of Cherokee county.  Population has passed 17,500, one-third of which are renters.  Households have passed 6,000 and median income has passed $50,000.

Temperature in Canton drops to an average of 30 in the winter months and climbs to 89 in the summer.  An estimated 106 days of precipitation brings 55 inches of rain and 3 inches of snow annually. 

Nearby education is offered by one elementary school, one middle school, and two high schools in the city.  While there are no colleges or universities in the city boundries, there are around 20 in the metro area.

There are several different forms of entertainment in the city.  Residents and visitors alike enjoy museums, golf courses, a theatre, several annual community events, and more.  Canton is also very close to the Allatoona Lake.
